Why Can’t I Purchase Live Plants in My State?Updated 11 days ago
State Restrictions:
Pesticide or Fungicide Treatment: In some states, plants must be pre-treated with specific pesticides or fungicides before import. These treatments reduce the risk of spreading pests or diseases. Only certain companies are approved to perform these treatments.
Agricultural Hold Period: Some states require an agricultural hold, where plants are held for 2 weeks to several months for inspection. During this period, state personnel monitor the plants for any signs of pests or diseases. However, small purchases may be disallowed due to the complexity of this process.
What Can You Do?
If you’re unable to purchase live plants from us due to these regulations, we apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. We recommend visiting your local nursery or garden center to find plants that meet your state’s guidelines. These local providers will have plants that have undergone the necessary inspections and treatments, ensuring they are safe to plant in your area.
