What Does Parthenocarpic Mean?Updated 11 days ago

Parthenocarpic refers to a plant’s ability to produce fruit without the need for fertilization or pollination. These fruits develop without seeds and are often desirable in situations where pollinators are scarce or when seedless fruits are preferred. Parthenocarpic varieties are common in crops like cucumbers, zucchini, and some types of tomatoes.

Because they don't require pollination to bear fruit, parthenocarpic plants are particularly useful in greenhouses or environments where natural pollination might be inconsistent.
