HOW TO USE A SEED SPROUTER FOR DELICIOUS HOMEGROWN SPROUTS
Although some sprouters are safe on the top rack of the dishwasher, not all water temperatures are the same. We have found it best to wash our sprouters by hand to ensure the water temperature isn’t hot enough to melt it.
Growing your own fresh sprouts at home is easy and rewarding when using a seed sprouter. Follow these steps for delicious homegrown sprouts:
1. Rinse Your Seeds:
Before placing seeds in the sprouter, rinse them thoroughly to remove any debris or contaminants.
2. Soak the Seeds:
Place the seeds in the sprouter and cover them with water. Soak them according to the recommended time for the seed variety (usually 4-8 hours).
3. Drain and Rinse:
After soaking, drain the water and rinse the seeds with fresh water. Make sure the water drains completely to prevent mold growth.
4. Maintain a Regular Rinsing Schedule:
Rinse and drain the seeds 2-3 times a day. Keep the sprouter in a well-lit area, but avoid direct sunlight.
5. Harvest Your Sprouts:
Once your sprouts have reached the desired length (usually within 3-5 days), they’re ready to harvest. Give them a final rinse, drain well, and enjoy!
6. Clean Your Sprouter:
While some sprouters are dishwasher-safe (top rack), water temperatures can vary. To prevent any potential damage, we recommend hand washing your sprouter with warm water and mild soap to ensure it remains in good condition.
