Heirloom
Heirloom seeds have a documented history, passed down through generations for their exceptional flavor and reliability in home gardens. At Botanical Interests, we consider open-pollinated varieties over 50 years old as heirlooms.
Hybrid vs. Open-Pollinated
Open-pollinated seeds produce plants that are true to type, while hybrid seeds, created from two distinct parents, may not grow true when saved. Botanical Interests offers both, with hybrids selected for performance and disease resistance.
Organic, Heirloom, and GMO
All our seeds are Non-GMO Project verified. Organic seeds meet USDA standards, and many are also heirloom. "Conventional" refers to non-organic seeds. Heirloom seeds, 50+ years old, can be grown organically or conventionally.
