Cilantro/Coriander Growing GuideUpdated 12 days ago
Cilantro, also known as coriander, has an interesting feature: each seed is actually two seeds inside a single hull, meaning each round seed you plant can produce two plants!
Seed Preparation
- No Soaking Required: Cilantro seeds don’t need to be soaked before planting. Some gardeners soak the seeds for up to 8 hours to soften the seed hull and speed up germination, but this is optional.
- Avoid Over-Soaking: Soaking for longer than 24 hours can deprive seeds of oxygen, leading to seed death. If you choose to soak, keep it brief—no more than 8 hours.
Planting Tips
- Basic Needs: Cilantro seeds need air, water, proper soil temperatures, and correct planting depth to thrive. Be mindful not to overwater or bury seeds too deeply, as this can cause issues with germination.
